Menswear Shoot (FIP Project)

This shoot was the one which didn't require me do a laborious task. Since it's a menswear shoot, I wouldn't have a hard time looking for men's clothes, ergo, I can use some of my clothes. (And almost all the clothes used for this shoot are mine) Since I am also, model size. HAHAHA

Moving on, the model, which weren't introduced to us beforehand turned out to be one of the models from my first fashion internship just last summer. Mark McMahon is a part of the Philippine Azkals team, a Bench model, and a host of ABS-CBN's late night show, CGE TV!

Readers, I give you, our Menswear shoot!

Photographer: Louie Parinas
Model: Mark McMahon of Elite
Stylists: Will Cheng, Peach Israel, Jonna Villegas
HMUA: Peach Israel

You might probably be wondering why I only posted three photos. Well apparently, those were the only ones given to us! But it looks good, right? Tune in for more posts! :)

Designer Shoot (FIP Project)

This particular shoot we conducted was the sudden one. This was considered the Womenswear Shoot but I decided to also call it Designer's Shoot since the garments used are done by Bryan Peralta, a fashion design student at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines.

This was shot at Cubao Expo.

For all the photos:
Designer: Bryan Peralta
Photographer: Louie Parinas
Stylists: Will Cheng and Peach Israel
Hair: Gelo Castillo
MUA: Bryan Yokota
Model: Lisa

The Princess of Fire and Ice (FIP Finals Project)

As a final requirement for my fashion styling class, we were asked to formulate our own shoot, own theme, and our own team. That made us doubt ourselves. Imagine hiring/looking for your own professional model, photographer, HMUA, assistant, location, pullouts, clothes, and the like. It wasn’t easy. It was more of an exposure for us.

The first thing I did. PLAN. Start from something. As in anything, maybe a theme, or clothes, or whatever. From there, ideas will flow through your head and you might even change your theme. Trust me, I changed my theme thrice!

Then I ended up with the theme entitled, “Princess of Fire and Ice”. There’s not much of a deep story behind the photos/editorial spread I have come up with. (Since I barely had time to plan it and make a story out of it because this coincided with my finals in La Salle) Anywho, what I had in mind was a princess who had the power of two, of fire and ice. Wherein she could was first the Princess of Fire then she suddenly realizes that she can not only produce and control fiery things but also ice. Confusing huh? Well, let these photos clarify your confusions!

Beauty shots for fire and ice!

Mostly, I tried to convey the contrast of the color red (with a pinch of gold) and the color blue (with silver). To make the photos more striking and sharp.

Shoes from Gold Dot

Wearable-ish outfits for both sides!

The red with gold and the blue with silver gives a sense of balance. I wanted to make it seem fierce (as always) but not too fierce since princesses are mostly known for their subtleness. But there should still be a vibe of independence and pride! Makes sense?

That's it for my finals! I hope you guys liked it. I will participate / do more shoots and improve my skills so you will be more psyched and entertained. And hopefully, you'll notice my progress. I mean, if I make any. HAHA

To my team who made ALL of this possible! Thank you so much and I hope we get the chance to work again!

Fierce/Fetish Shoot (FIP Project)

Here’s our last activity/shoot for Fashion Institute of the Philippines. The reason why I don’t have some of our shoots is because the details aren’t complete and / or the pictures haven’t been sent to us yet. Rest assured, I will post them ASAP! Going back, this shoot was supposed to be a high fashion-couture shoot. But my fellow student-stylists decided to change paths and boiled down to a consensus to make a fierce/fetish shoot instead due to lack of resources. Though I think this shoot turned out well, right?  J

For this shoot:
Photographer: Sylvester Sy
Model: Rodina Luspo
Stylists: Will Cheng, Peach Israel, Jonna Villegas
HMUA: Anthea Bueno

P.S. Most of the clothes she's wearing were from Jonna Villegas and Peach Israel! My groupmates :)

This is my personal favorite not just because I was the one who art directed the pose but I love the drama the opened-leg creates with what she is wearing. And how she puts emotions to the scene. Kudos, Rodina!

Fierce.

Helped her with this pose also ;)

You won't be fierce until you act and feel like it! Be confident and be proud with what you're wearing. With yourself! ;) Stay stylish, readers!

Second fashion internship (Bench)

Being able to work/intern for Bench again is another break for me! Like any other internships, this is another chance for me to show how much of a team worker I am, to show how inquisitive and willing I am to learn more about not only the fashion world but also the nature of working. I would like to thank again one of our head stylists, Nio Manzano, the same person who hooked me up with my first ever fashion internship! (Which I also blogged before, so you can probably check that one out also)

This time, I got “promoted” to a “key person” still an intern but on a higher state. And still working as an assistant stylist! A promotion could mean a lot to one’s career. That is why I have to prove myself even more and show them that they weren’t wrong in giving me this promotion! This is yet another stepping stone to my career as a fashion stylist!

 Got this photo from: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151171220641251&set=a.10150685291516251.451542.40754751250&type=3

On the other hand, the reason why I made this particular entry is to help Bench promote their show entitled, “Bench Universe: The 2012 Denim and Underwear Show”. This show will run for two consecutive nights. So if you’re not able to watch or to get a ticket for the 13th of September (Thursday), then you can still get one for the 14th  (Friday). Far East Movement will be there! Celebs and tons of dancers plus ANTM models!

See you guys there! ;)

BTS of my finals for fashion school

Just this September 1, 2012 (in line with my finals for DLSU), I had to conduct a photoshoot on my own, as a requirement for my fashion styling class. Meaning, I had to create my own shoot-which is, by the way, not an easy thing to do. I had to look for my own model, photographer, hmua (hair and make up artist), assistant, location, clothes, shoes, and much more. I still do not know how I got over this!

Tip: Plan ahead of time. Cramming can sometimes be good, but it is better to be prepared ;)

Here are some BTS photos. By the way, BTS means behind the scenes! ;)
